Why is it necessary to clean before disinfection to build a complete biosecurity system?
Have you ever encountered problems with stubborn dirt adhering to surfaces in farms or heavily polluted areas, making cleaning time-consuming and laborious? Inadequate cleaning leads to the presence of stubborn dirt, which causes odors and prevents disinfectants from penetrating, significantly reducing their effectiveness. In farming environments, we advocate for a two-step process of cleaning and disinfection. This recommendation is supported by experimental data. Aerobic bacteria counts were taken using swabs, showing a 2-log reduction in aerobic bacteria (cfu) per 625 cm² after simple cleaning and disinfection, compared to only a 1.5-log reduction (cfu) per 625 cm² with disinfection alone. This is mainly because organic dirt on uncleaned surfaces can greatly reduce or eliminate the effectiveness of disinfectants against microorganisms. Therefore, cleaning before disinfection is necessary.

Recommended Applications

Application & Dosage
PRE-RINSE
Pre-rinse the equipment, workshop walls, floors, etc. to be cleaned with water.
ALKALINE CLEANING
Dilute SafFoam by 2-5%. Using a dedicated foaming gun, apply 250-500ml/m² of foam evenly over the equipment, walls, floors, etc. to be cleaned for 15-30 minutes. When the environment temperature is low (below 10°C) or the equipment is located in a high-oil environment, it is recommended to dilute this product with warm water around 50°C.
POST-RINSE
Use a high-pressure water gun to rinse thoroughly.
STORAGE
Store in a cool, dry place.
Avoid contact with acids.
